Jae liner bio
Jermaine Johnson was born in norfolk Virginia in the year 1989. Early in life Jermaine began listening to Jay-Z, the Lox, G-Unit, Dipset, A Tribe Called Quest, and fellow Virginia natives, Missy Elliot, Timberland, and Pharell. He was inspired to start rapping by his older brother, Jason Johnson, and from watching a television show called “The Lyrics and Sound Show” at age nine. Jae Liner’s first performance was at a Car show in Virginia Beach near Mount Trashmore. He has performed at such places as The Funny Bone at Waterside in Norfolk, Virginia, The Broadway Club in Norfolk, and The Broadberry in Richmond, Virginia, to only name a few. Before he was known as Jae Liner, Jermaine was known by another alias, “Tommy Gunn.” Under the name Tommy Gunn he put out the album “The Construction” in June 2009. His transition from Tommy Gunn to Jae Liner didn’t happen until 2011 when he began throwing around the idea of “The Cheers Album” along with the other members of “The Cypher.” However, the album did not make its debut until nearly two years later in 2013. When asked who he would like to possibly work with one day, Jae stated that he would love to work with some of Virginia’s great artists such as Missy Elliot, “the great Timberland”, and also Pharell Williams, or “Anyone with a story behind their music.” He also stated that his favorite artists at the current moment would have to be between Lloyd Banks and T.I. Mr. Johnson’s favorite mixtape from Lloyd Banks would have to be between “Gang Green Season” and “Mo Money in the Bank.” His favorite albums from T.I. would have to be “Paper Trail” and “Urban Legend.” When asked why these two rappers were his favorite he stated, “I specifically like these artists because of their unique delivery and because of their cadence.”He has also worked recently with his brother Jason “Jay Kid” Johnson and Jae’s best friend “Andrae “Asharp” Collins, together His brother Jay Kid also was the graphic artist who did all the cover artwork on Jae’s current EP. Another person who has had a lot of time working with Jae recently was Lord Etha, a videographer who has shot Jae’s recent videos, including; My Time, Knock Out, Blazers, and Top of The World.
